To fully leverage the supporting role of high-quality materials in improving building quality, explore the application practices of high-quality building insulation technology, and contribute to the construction of "good houses" that satisfy the public, the "High-Quality Building Insulation and Safety Technology Forum" was successfully held in Beijing on the afternoon of May 27, 2025. The forum was jointly hosted by the Beijing Kangju Certification Center of the Science and Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Passive Low-Energy Building Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, and Tianjin Jiatai Weiye Chemical Co., Ltd., and organized by Tianjin Geyade New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. Wu Zhen, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and Wang Xuewei, Secretary-General of the Beijing Urban Renewal Alliance and Deputy General Manager of China Construction Bank Beijing Branch, attended the meeting. Nearly 100 people participated, including representatives from the Passive Low-Energy Building Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance and upstream and downstream industry technology representatives in the construction sector. The meeting was chaired by Ma Yishuo, Chairman of the Beijing Kangju Certification Center of the Science and Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

Wu Zhen, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology and Industrialization Development Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, pointed out that facing new situations and new requirements, effectively improving building quality and making efforts to build "good houses" is not only an effective means to meet the people's growing needs for a better life, but also an important measure to expand domestic demand and stabilize growth. Safe insulation materials and technical systems can not only effectively improve the green and low-carbon level of buildings and support the creation of a "warm in winter and cool in summer" indoor environment, but also effectively prevent safety accidents such as insulation detachment. Vigorously developing and promoting safe insulation technologies is an important measure for the development of "good houses." He emphasized that Kangju Center, as an advocate, explorer, and practitioner of passive ultra-low energy consumption buildings and near-zero carbon buildings in my country, should continue to work with all parties to promote the development of high-quality building insulation materials and technologies, and advance related work on the construction of "good houses."

Wang Xuewei, Secretary-General of the Beijing Urban Renewal Alliance and Deputy General Manager of China Construction Bank Beijing Branch, focused on the theme of "Architecture + Funding Solutions for Urban Renewal," introducing the Beijing Municipal Urban Renewal Special Fund Incentive Measures using Beijing urban renewal case studies. He pointed out that urban renewal should be driven by financial innovation, guaranteed by policy coordination, and propelled by market participation, comprehensively constructing a closed loop of "planning-construction-operation-funding."

Lu Guozhong, Director of the R&D Center of Beijing Building Materials Testing and Research Institute Co., Ltd., exchanged views on "Analysis and Suggestions on Quality Problems of Building External Wall Insulation Systems". He pointed out that solving the quality problems of external wall insulation systems requires concerted efforts from three aspects: optimization at the design source, strict control of material quality, and implementation of construction standards. This will not only help improve the energy efficiency and service life of buildings, but also play an important role in protecting the lives and property of the people and promoting the high-quality development of the construction industry.

Guo Aili, from the National Building Fire Protection Product Safety and Quality Inspection and Testing Center, introduced the drafting process of the national standards "Molded Polystyrene Foam for Thermal Insulation (EPS)" and "Extruded Polystyrene Foam for Thermal Insulation (XPS)". She pointed out that these two standards establish a complete safety defense line from material production to engineering application, which will not only accelerate the industry's technological iteration and promote the transformation of the EPS and XPS industries towards high-end and green development, but also provide dual protection for building energy conservation and fire safety, effectively contributing to the achievement of "dual carbon" goals.

       Gao Yuwei, R&D Manager of Tianjin Jiatai Weiye Chemical Co., Ltd., discussed the future opportunities and development of graphite polystyrene. He explained that to produce high-quality graphite polystyrene, the following aspects must be guaranteed: 1. Add 100% natural flake graphite; 2. Do not add any black pigment or carbon black; 3. Do not add chlorinated paraffin or recycled materials; 4. Add a sufficient amount of environmentally friendly flame retardant.

      Miao Xintian, Chairman of Hebei Jinguangsha Construction Technology Co., Ltd., gave a speech on the theme of bringing modular housing to every household, and the current situation and development trend of cavity building modules. He mainly reported on the opportunities and challenges of cavity building modules for the development of rural houses and high-end villas, and emphasized that good green and low-carbon houses should start from rural towns and villages, so that good houses can enter every household.
